i don’t doubt that some trans folk might be socialized in certain ways unique to their AGAB. everyone is in a constant process of socialization. i certainly have learned many “male” coded behaviors from my peers. i’ve also learned a lot of decidedly not masculine behaviors from queer spaces, and elsewhere. this is a complicated subject.
what’s less complicated: if you think that this makes trans identities less valid, or somehow makes trans women “privileged”, or makes it okay to ignore any other socialization, or negates the ways in which this process of socialization may work differently for trans people, or generally if you use “male socialization” to question the validity of transfem identities and perspectives… you are a bigot. that doesn’t mean you have to stay one, though - reflect on why you think this way.
(side question: did this discourse spin off the fedi meta somehow?)
