   My lord, this sounds horrifying. Do you want this? Am I the only luddite who doesn't? None of the questions in this article [https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/20/technology/google-bard-extensions.html] strike me as things I'd want an language model to handle.

     Something like a decade ago, a Google employee friend described to me the company’s long-term vision as creating the perfect “personal concierge.” It’s a vision in which privacy exists — but Google in its entirety is •inside• the circle of privacy. Very little I’ve heard about Google in the years since that conversation has contradicted it.
