   Making people pay to tweet should be the nail in the coffin for #Twitter; but then again I thought turning it into a glorified Parler would've been that nail already. As they say, the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.

     @Gargron Who knows… I certainly won‘t pay but that will also mean that I‘ll lose some longtime twitter friends who just aren‘t capable to move to other platforms for various reasons. DMs and group chats via DM have been an integral part of my twitter experience. That cannot be replaced unfortunately.

     @Gargron with his ad revenue down, if he wants to claw back some of the money he's spent, he's going to have to do something like this. It's going to come down to the implementation. In my view he'd be better to apply a throttle, say 10/20/30 free messages or replies per day, and pay $1 for each thereafter. That may then catch commercial operators.

     I was permanently suspended from Twitter/X merely because I repeated some bad things about Tesla cars I'd seen in the news & Consumer Reports; & in the same post I quoted the price of Dogecoin which Musk is fond of.
