But honestly like, I'm the only one I know with an Android and that means I miss out on a lot. I can't use imessage with friends, I can't airdrop them stuff, I can't FaceTime, the messages I do get are poorly translated to RCS/SMS. All of friends and family have iphones. ALL of them. And when I meet strangers odds are they have an iPhone, even landlords have asked me to FaceTime and I have to use my laptop for that.
Not to mention I have a Mac, so with an android I miss out on all the ways my phone and laptop could integrate and it feels fucking dumb. And I don't have any plan to switch off of a Mac, it is what I want out of a laptop and anything else feels like a step backwards.
Cons being like I couldn't emulate shit and I couldn't use Husky or Chromecast. I don't currently do any gaming on my phone though because I have a Steam Deck for that, and Chromecast can still be done with browsers so idk
@eris I am going to HATE not having webm support in their shitty safari mobile browser. I am getting an iphone for the camera and basic phone calling and basically everything else I'm sacrificing
@mischievoustomato@eris I spend a ton of time on fedi and people still use webm so it's kinda annoying to have to download them and play them in a standalone player
@eris I know a lot of people are outright anti-Apple and I can’t entirely blame them, but if the people around you are using it and it’s features, it really is very convenient
Like some people are like “I wouldn’t be able to do 90% of what I do on my phone with an iPhone” and that’s usually like… SSHing into a server from their phone for some reason or playing out of market oddly specific Japanese gooner games so 🤷♀️
What’s driving you to get one anyway? The main thing I noticed is video scrubbing but besides that the battery is better but I had 2 cheap and easily replaceable ones I could just change out on my old phone.
