@Boomerman @tyler @Tactical @Groomschild Credit cards are a tool like a hammer, if you're not intentionally hitting yourself with the hammer it's plenty useful and safe. Lending is a necessary evil to have large capital purchases without outside financial backing such as family, otherwise you have to just save the funds upfront which is always still an option for you. We'd just end up with more renters and concentration of landlords into a smaller population segment.

@Groomschild @tyler @Tactical @Boomerman Credit score is just a way to keep deadbeats from getting loans they'll abandon often enough to bankrupt lenders. It's not inherently evil and you can get a decent score without ever paying a dime in interest. If you have no self control it can work out poorly, but that's your own fault for maxing out your card to buy a new gaming computer.

Hard to explain my mindset when you have 10k sitting around, but you can't get an apartment because you don't have credit or it's not "1/3rd of your income" or afford it, can't advance in your dead-end retail field, and need to move out from your family, so you decide to risk it all.

I understand man. I remember i walked into a hotel shop and the guy at the counter had his crypto tracker open during the big crash and i think he walked off the job. Pretty sure i poasted about it. Its like gambling man its very dangerous.

Pissed my boomer folks off good when I told them that working at McDonalds pays more - and better than what some private contractors do for laborers, and they just sass me about "growing in my industry"
Yeah I'd love to but I ain't standing out in the sun for $18 an hour for 10 hours in the fucking hot ass sun, when I could just get a security guard gig and sit on my ass for eight hours and get paid $17.

Kind of how I feel with construction right now.
Call +11 places up, have to wait +6 months for an apprenticeship, OR you go into laborer work for 1/4th the pay, and even more bullshit.
