They have identified the pilot of the F-35 as 41 year old Samuel “Sammy” Hyde. According to Hyde, a system failure alert went off in the cockpit and the abort/eject system alert was activated leaving him no choice but to detach from the aircraft. The cause of the system failure has not yet been determined
