@lispi314 Thanks to fediblock, I can only see emacsen's post and he has summarized it pretty well.
Corporates using free software (as it respects their freedom) isn't an issue, as a running a copy of software doesn't wear it out, although that doesn't mean I agree with the terrible and/or criminal acts that most corporations are dedicated to carrying out.
Rather than a "transfer of wealth" occurring, the possibility of maximizing wealth gain via massive efficiency has been greatly assisted by free software - but I would say that such massive wealth gains have only been possible as people and governments keep submitting to corporations and handing them endless rent money without saying no even once.
Alas, corporations seem to want to kill the suppliers that provided geese that lay golden eggs with the right food, as they're very dedicated to eliminating free software, by; - Attempted to rename every single free software project to "open source", which the intended meaning being the natural one of; "source available". - Ensuring that people are told that Linux is an OS, that it's "open source" (it's not even source-available for some parts) and the "whole OS" was written by Linus with a bit of help and that they never hear of GNU. - Tricking developers into using pushover permissive licenses, so the software can be proprietarized without having to resort to copyright infringement (many companies infringe copyright anyway, but there is an understanding that clear cut copyright infringement is probably going to lead to a lawsuit and you losing, with some exceptions - one being Linux, where a group of companies pay Linus to not enforce his copyright against their GPLv2 infringements (the Linux foundation) and use it to block freedom instead where possible).
For mastodon links, you probably want to link to the embedded version like so: https://mas.to/@yogthos/111071215888135964/embed (I don't really like running arbitrary JavaScript on my computer even if it's probably free).
