I'm under Anything but Xitter. I mostly post here and sometimes cross post to Bluesky, but it's a little rough going since I only have 30 followers there and very little engagement. The drama is also more unhinged than Twitter since the active users are Twitter's most terminally online (see: ACAB Dril drama) 🙄
Unlike some Fedi purists, I don't think Mastodon is the one and only platform. I like the people I've met here but it still can't replace a lot of what I used Twitter for 1/🧵

I don't really post on Twitter but I check it out for breaking news in the Philippines, live music news, etc. Most places here in the PH don't update their website (including the govt!) They update an FB page and a Twitter page and sometimes Twitter is the lesser evil.
And Mastodon isn't free of drama either. Instead of Elon Musk being the perpetual main character, it's a rotating cast of mods and their opaque HOA policies. It's a big turn off for people considering the platform.

@cordillera So true! The government and other "official websites" from the #Philippines updates their SNS profiles instead of their official websites.
They haven't realised they're making other platforms richer, and at the same, locking their content hostage to those platforms. So, if they get banned, poof, all their effort and content gone to waste. Worst is, the government "begging" to get their accounts back.
I wonder when will they realise that and fix their mistake. LOL.

The Philippines is probably FB's highest source of income.
