   Honestly the DM feature on Mastodon is incredibly confusing and spooky. Confusing enough that I — a very technically adept person — accidentally created a private group chat between two people when I meant to just do a one-on-one DM. Spooky in that you see DMs in the main timeline.

     That feature seems fine to me, for it makes it easy to execute chronological comparisons.
     However, I rarely exchange direct messages so what I just said may not be that significant.
