     Do #Barbie and Ken walk into a store and just wear clothes and left. They were them chased by the police. Curious, were they aware of the concept of money but refuse to say? In the prologue, it was mentioned Barbie has her own money, so I guess that cancels my hope that Barbieland was communism.

     Also I love the fascist totalitarianism of the Mattel office and I love what this Spectacle symbolizes — that Spectacular power integrates critique of itself as part of its Spectacle and sells it back to us. Classic recuperation. The question becomes, can we detourn/hijack Barbie for revolution?

     @abolisyonista Was depicted earlier in the film. The genocide was of the porcelain baby dolls. The colonizing was of the young girls.

     @abolisyonista I'm glad somebody else said this because it bugged me too...I was like, okay, supposed to be silly, over the top movie, so don't take it too seriously....but...but...ah shoot, now I'm going to be thinking all night about how the Barbies must have genocides the indigenous inhabitants of Barbieland....wait, is that why there's only one Allan?! Did they genocide the Allans?!?!

     @abolisyonista The Barbie world is a thin veneer of self-delusion to mask an uncomfortable reality. See the perfectly maintained roads lined with perfectly manicured lawns and perfect little neighborhoods. There is no decay of late stage capitalism here. You and your friends have amazing careers beautiful houses, exciting hobbies, adorable pets. How can there be social strife? Look at all the bright colors. Nothing can intrude on this perfect little world.

     Life is plastic. It's fantastic.
