@dajb At least one of the graphs is very misleading (the one graphing median male/female income against GDP). I don't know what the Y axis should be for the respective genders, but they should definitely not be _the same_ considering median female income is still well below the median male income by quite a bit.

The reader is left to draw their own conclusion, but given that it was before I was born and don't really have much context (I'm not an historian of that period!) I'm a bit like... ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
