   I just checked thebadspace tag again and Ro just continues whining and whining about how everyone who criticizes him or is upset with him is anti-block and racist and it's just so preposterous and absurd.

     It's really frustrating because I hate echoing something conservatives often say when they are accused of being racist but we have to admit that sometimes Progressive language can actually be co-opted for narcissistic reasons — in this case being unable to admit a genuine mistake or bias — just as something that is usually used as a canned denial can also be a genuine and evidence-based denial depending on the context.

     @FinalOverdrive given the servers he has listed as trusted that he is deriving the block list from originally, the approach he has taken to deriving the list from the servers, and the fact that he has explicitly cited mastodon.art and Welsh Pixie as people he respects and defers to for answering questions I seriously do not think that anything good will come of this list at all.

     @FinalOverdrive should've said "anarcho" syndicalist, she's basically a democratic socialist with anarchist aesthetics — claims not to want to be ruled by "fancy lads in funny suits," but then immediately falls for the state's typical justification for its existence (whatever the latest disaster is) and wants to have a fucking world government run by unaccountable climate technocrats, there's a reason I stopped following her — but again I don't think that her having silly very anarco-liberal takes makes her deserving of false accusations or makes what Welsh Pixie and Oliphant did remotely within the pale or better at all. Like you can say that you don't like Nina but her having bad politics doesn't create an equivalency between her and the people that were trying to start a witch hunt against her

     @FinalOverdrive something something leftists and drama lol. I think it's because we are extremely aware and vigilant about correctness and the implications of beliefs and ideologies and possible harm and who we associate with and stuff, because we actually care, but that can very quickly turn into hypervigilance and hyper-awareness and being on a hair trigger if your community hasn't found a stable homeostasis yet and most leftist communities simply haven't existed long enough to find that homeostasis. Also because how much we care about harm and beliefs and who we associate with and stuff makes us very easy to manipulate by people who aren't actually acting in anyone's best interest. It's why I think they're genuinely has to be some kind of niddle ground between ideological hypervigilance and conservative freeze peach culture, where we stick to just focusing on trying to root out bigotry and harm and don't get into these hyper-attenuated metadrama clusterfucks
