     @kaia because it's a Bethesda game, not a Obsidian game, and after shitshow that Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout 4 stories and characters are nobody cares about story in bethesda games, so people play for immersion, pretty picture and exploration.
     
     Skyrim story: you're finally awake, time to either join the gestapo or the nazis, no other choices and oh i guess you can do the dragonborn stuff
     
     Fallout 3 story: Hello, son. Do something normal and good or do something maliciously evil for no reason.
     
     Fallout 4 story: Where son. Yes/No/Sarcastic.

     It's a pretty fundamental promise of the game that was broken. One of the big selling points was no walls, and that was a lie. I'm personally not paying for the game until things have some time to settle. In the meantime, I'm getting my dose of sci-fi from Armored Core 6 and its crazy mech battles.

     Nice, have heard good things since they made massive overhauls post-launch on that one. Considering reviews and the like, next purchase for me is likely to be Baldur's Gate 3, though I should really get around to finishing off Elden Ring (and Malenia by extension) first.
