     @cobra @volpeon https://hacktivis.me/tmp/0001-lib-javaversion.class-Remove-build-from-source.patch is one example of patching one out from gnulib, which is code that is *vendored* by design in most things GNU.

     @cobra Unless a bad mistake was made, it doesn't.
     
     Certain GNU software ships with some binaries pre-compiled for convenience, but there's always corresponding source provided that you can use to build the binaries yourself.
     
     Many BSD users seem to have a strange obsession with calling free software binaries "blobs", even when the source code is right there under a free license and at the same time ignore all the proprietary software in every single BSD.
