Many normal people in US has not optimal insurance from their work. I'm very happy about not living in US. Need not only health services but unemployment protections, vacations, paid time off work after having a child, disability protections and some sort of social help if you are poor for a society to be worthwhile. The survival of the fittest is not appealing to me at all and seems to go against human spirit/soul.

@dicey @kaia As someone who has socialized healthcare, I pay for private doctors, every single time.
The only good thing about socialized healthcare is that it provides competition, though I would prefer regulations to be adjusted instead, and have more private sector competition.
(by forcing hospitals to show prices up front for elective procedures for example.)

@dicey @kaia @diresock why is your employer responsible for your healthcare provisions anyway :blobcatgoogly:
that concept comes from the government banning companies from paying higher wages during WW2

@kaia considering the quality of the food they eat, I doubt it would make a difference
