   Yeah, would highly recommend switching to a third party app.

   On iPhone, the third party apps Ice Cubes, Toot! and Ivory are very popular for example.

     For what it's worth, I've tested Ice Cubes on my iPhone from 2019 and haven't noticed any slowdown or problems.

     I used it with a Mastodon account, it's possible that it doesn't run as well with non-Mastodon accounts.

     @feditips @OskarImKeller i always found ice cubes to be sluggish and buggy tbh even recently
     
     ivory unfortunately *only* supports mastodon and not any of the other (arguably better) platforms
     
     when i was using mastodon i liked tooot but now ive just settled for the pleroma web app because none of the mobile apps work great with it (even though it should use the same mastodon api, idk unless my servers set up wrong)
