What is it with the German (European?) obsession of renaming American TV shows from one English-only title to another?!

Example: the TV show “Invasion” (in Germany it’s on Apple TV+) is called “Infiltration” instead (?!?)

I’ve seen this a bunch of times now, even for movies; how does this make sense? (Genuinely wondering)

PS: Yes, I realize “Infiltration” is a word in German as well, but “Invasion” literally is as well 🤷
