     @romin My assumption is that they figured that the info would be released to the public through PACER or FOIA request and knew this would be heavily publicized(and why shouldn’t it be) so they wanted to look honest. "we always gib the unlock codes to crack your safe", and yet this is probably their first public statement on the subject.

     The guvment most likely coerced them into backdooring the vaults or else. How the fuck did the guvment know they backdoor safes in the first place then?

     @romin If they were intelligent then they would not have secret unlock codes for their vaults, and then there would be nothing to subpoena. This should be standard practice. There is no purpose for a device like this. A good advertisement for a security device is something to the tune of: Feds asking Apple for help to unlock an iPhone only to be met with, "sry cant". This is not, and I hope it kills their business.
