     I learned the hard way.

     My mom used to talk shit about my dad constantly after divorce.

     A mature adult let's the kid make their own assessment.

     Good god what do I say to a kid that tells me I've been more of a father to him than his own?

     I told him I love him, and that someday he would understand his real fathers struggles.

     This is why I have not quit my shitty part-time job. I love these kids. 😢
