   I can safely say, after using it for a month. I've fallen in LOVE with the #MATE desktop environment. It's super lightweight, doesn't get in my way, and super customizable! Seriously, its so solid that I don't know why it's not default on *most* distros.

     I used to really dislike it at first glance but once I started using it years ago I never left it. By far my favorite DE.
