Volition seems to have closed because of unrelated bad business decisions by their shitty holding company parent, not because they went woke with Saints Row or whatever. Maybe they didn't make the cull because they were underperforming though.

@Moon kind of annoying how the reaction online has shifted. When EA killed westwood et al it was "wow this parent company sucks, they had them make shitty games and then shut them down".
Now its "LMAO GO WOKE GO BROKE GET FUCKED" by people who would never play the games anyways.
Not like volition has made a great game since 7th gen, but i digress

@Moon saints row remake isn't "woke", it just fucking sucks. noone in the main cast (or the whole game? idk) is trans, the diversity is 90s tier, and the comedy is standard safe reddit writing. comments about socialism and racism are surface level references to the same degree as movie references.
but i have no clue what "woke" means anymore. they just use the word for anything left of alex jones, its lost all meaning.
i was gonna say about the "go woke go broke" crowd, they only ever seem to point to the social media PR intern. almost like the loudest assholes just live social media and were never interested in playing the actual game.
funny, i used this description at another anti-video game culture warrior crowd about 10 years ago....
