   @adele Hey Adële, I can’t remember the specifics right now but I was having a conversation with someone working on just that (although I feel JavaScript is essential if we want to be able to use end-to-end encrypted communication on the web with regular browsers, which is a cornerstone of the Small Web stuff I’m working on.*)

   I’ll boost your post so hopefully they can find you :)

     @adele It’s not, no. But there’s no such as perfection either. Any end-to-end encrypted chat app could be compromised at various points in the supply chain. It’s just about making the defaults as secure/private as possible and having an alternative to the Big Web. I do not (and would not) imagine the Small Web as the only alternative and so it’s great to see different initiatives attempting different approaches :)

     however, JS is really the heaviest thing for a smolnet. Are you sure that a web browser is the best tool for e2e encrypted chat ? 🤔
