    As you might have seen from the last boost, PeerTube's latest version now supports "ability to automatically import all videos from a remote channel (from another video platform)".

    What does this mean?

    It means you can automatically import your videos from YouTube to PeerTube ?

    :youtube: ➡️ :peertube:

    More info from PeerTube's official news page:

      What are the main differences - advantages and disadvantages - between #PeerTube and #Odysee?

      I've never tried PeerTube, nevertheless Odysee makes part of my daily routine and I find it great, principally because of the Odysee Browser Extension.

      And this feature YouTube->Odysee already existed.

      @B1rn3

      Odysee is built around blockchain and cryptocurrency :vomit:

      PeerTube isn't ?

      Also, PeerTube is part of the Fediverse so you can follow and interact with PeerTube accounts from Mastodon etc. You can try it right now for accounts like @veronicaexplains_channel

      No, YouTube increasingly doesn't.

      The reason so many YT videos nowadays have sponsors is because YT monetisation has gone down the toilet, especially for small indie makers.

      In-video sponsors are platform neutral, they don't care which platform your videos are on as long as people are watching your videos. For example @thelinuxexperiment has sponsors on their videos on all platforms including PeerTube.

      As for Odysee, it's from cryptocurrency so I would stay as far away from it as possible.

      @malin @feditips @B1rn3 @veronicaexplains_channel hey, but what about monetization, huh?

      You can post a video on PeerTube instance. But will you get money like YouTube does?

      Odysee does. YouTube does. Peertube....?

      @feditips @B1rn3 @veronicaexplains_channel Also Odysee's theoretically decentralized, but in practice, isn't.

      Peertube is actually decentralized.
