     @tyil This is very stupid. Sorry but that's so hyperbolic I don't even see the truth. I've had my iPhone 12 since it came out and am still supported on software features. My phone before that was the iPhone 7. Not a whole lot besides hardware, that I missed out on those years that I didn't upgrade.

     @richaesthetic@mastodon.social To shed some light on reality, my previous phone was 10 years old and if something in the UI bothered me, I could install any other shell or phone distro to change it, without issue, next to no technical skill required.
     
     Compare that to any Apple device, really. Always an overpriced hellscape, unless you don't value freedom or independence.

What it leads to is increasingly worse products for everyone. It's a very short-sighted and egotistical means of looking at the world.What good is a feature that allows me to change the UI if I like the UI?Except this thread started about complaining about the UI. I find the ability to customize it quite relevant to that.calling other people stupidI agree, not sure why you're targeting that remark at me, though, I didn't call anyone stupid.

     Not everyone has the same priorities and calling other people stupid for not caring about your preferences is idiotic
