I remember hacking on a patch for some weird bit of the Mac OS X platform code in Mozilla early on
and really not liking that the "NS" prefix was used for both "NeXTStep" Obj-C types and "Netscape" C++ types :D

@brion Something that’s kinda obscure at this point is that the NS prefix stands for NeXT/Sun. NEXTSTEP native APIs were all prefixed NX - and then along came OpenStep which was their cooperation with Sun in creating an object standard. I don’t think many Obj-C developers on the Mac/iOS ever thought about Sun, but that’s what the S was meant to stand for :next:
