   I've taken apart a lot of stuff over the years, but I think this Epson printer front panel might be the only time I've ever seen reverse mounted SMD LEDs used like this.

   Usually this is the kind of thing you'd see in a hacker conference badge, which is making me wonder who got the idea from who...

     Bleed between adjacent LEDs is masked by the PCB => less complex injection moulding design.

     @tomnardi Nokia 3310/15/30 had this as well for the keyboard Illumination. I know this because I made quite a few bucks as a teenager because I exchanged the stock green LEDs for blue and other colors as a service during my teenage years 🤓
