@icedquinn The courts are striking down state laws, and ATF regulations. That's good news. But, Congress is trying to just make new laws anyway, that's bad.
End of day, congress can pass an unconstitutional law (remember how much power they gave Clinton with the line item veto, until it was declared unconstitutional?). They can pass the law, the law can go into effect, and then if we have the same Supreme Court when a case gets there (could be years) the law could be struck down as unconstitutional.
Right now, Congress is basically saying, they have power to control people that is superior to either the Judicial branch, and above the rights granted in the constitution, and Congress just doesn't care, and does it anyway. They aren't personally held liable for talking away peoples constitutional rights, they have a "technicality" to control, and they are going to use it. Control, until the system grinds on for years to strike it down.
The only way to get "gun rights" anymore is rely on the courts to interpret the constitution, meanwhile, you may well be arrested, and imprisoned, for excerpting your constitutional rights, because it will win politicians votes. It sucks. If people can't tell from this how broken "politics" and "democracy" has endangered the free republic, they just aren't looking...
