     @ThatCrazyDude @Zennblack *yawn* I’ve got no reason to believe that was ever particularly commonplace, and even less to think it’s how any shark fin that makes it to a table here is acquired. As far as I can tell it was mostly yellow peril fear mongering. And frankly it pales in comparison to how animals I value much higher than sharks spend their entire lives in western factory farms.

     @Zennblack @Sophistifunk yeah. I have nothing against killing things for food, whether it's a pig, cow, dog, an elephant, whatever. If you'll eat it, I'm ok with that. But when people start slicing animals up when they're still alive.... That's where I draw the line, I guess.

     Eating the thing is not the same as finning. The finning throws the whole thing back but the fins. Horrible and wasteful.
