   i literally studied science for years &, despite extensive medical and psychological trauma (which causes me to critique the field's historic origins & motivations), i absolutely still readily go to the doctor.

     i'm not woo.

     i believe that the slaughter of pagans served a political goal in the expansion of christian empire, and so i attempt to revive some elements of pagan cultures as a way to fight oppressive hegemony.

     *shakes bars harder*
     i do this in community with friends & loved ones who never surrendered their cultures, to build bridges among colonized peoples from different places. i consider magic to be cultural technologies for meaning making. admittedly, i have absolutely seen some shit that makes very little sense, and witchcraft imbues the world with a smol level of magic, as a treat of wonder, which i rely on to make it through this hellacape.

     i believe that so much useful knowledge & culture was destroyed or harmed by christian assimilation that we do ourselves a disservice to write off paganism entirely.

     i just want to celebrate imbloc & pray to the poem god as a way to break up the winter monotony. i'm literally not hurting anyone 😭

     @scorpiontongue ((hugs)) I'm definitely not into spirituality stuff myself (I like to joke that I'm like that skeptic in a fantasy movie or whatever where, whenever they walk in the room, all the magic suddenly stops magic-ing, and when they walk out it starts again 😅) but I think your perspective on witchcraft is very cool nonetheless. It's ok to have a little magic, as a treat ❤️

     I think the best take on witchcraft I saw was a screenshot of a tumblr witch saying that like, if you're getting weird shit happening in your house, you check your carbon monoxide first, then call pest control, and so on, and then if you've exhausted the obvious physical solutions, then you start gathering the stuff you need to cast out a demon 😄
