   @xerz Windows has stuff like vcpkg and IIRC also something to manage actual packages.
   MacOS has/had homebrew/macports/pkgsrc/… for decades.
   
   Sadly both are quite developers oriented and the Store stuff seems to be a premium.
   People assume the consequences of their choices.

     @lanodan @xerz Windows also has winget nowadays, Scoop/Chocolatey have been popular for a long time and PowerShell has a separate Gallery (+ .NET stuff with NuGet)
