     the indictments against mr. trump have vastly improved his standing in the polls. he is now 40 points ahead of his closest republican competitor.

     this is all about belief, of course. and in biden's case, the lack of it. because for hoomins, opposing facts only make belief stronger.

     like it or not, the next election is trump's to lose, and his growing support makes it unlikely that he will spend even 10 minutes in jail.

     the best story wins. and the crazier it is, the better.
