In practice, if you're a fast driver, you're not going to get back into the middle lane because it's always so crowded you will need to slow down. If I'm driving late at night and the way is clear, I'll hang out in the middle lane going my normal speed.

     @Griffith @FUCKINGWHOCARESDUDE @bot the center lane is technically the "travelling" lane, leftmost lane is the "passing" lane. You're supposed to go in and out of the passing lane as you pass people.
     
     But if you're driving so fast that almost nobody is ever going to want to pass you, you can hang out in the left lane. Just be ready to get over if someone even faster than you comes up from behind.

     You’re implying there are two passing lanes on a three lane highway that’s retarded. Left is for long distance/passing right is for slow/getting off.
     Center lanes are relative to speed in those two lanes have you ever driven before?

     Left is fast/long distance, right is slow/getting off, center lanes are relative to those lanes.
     If someone is passing on the left that’s good, if they’re passing on the right that’s bad. It means you’re going too slow.
