   @mariemarm Manilenyo. At least back in the 80s and 90s, it was how the teachers and profs taught the difference between Filipino and Tagalog.

   I think the only thing I like with what the KWF did years ago was when they brought back the use of diacritical marks and added the Filipino schwa mark. Beyond that, I don't know what they're doing annually, and if they truly deserve to have the final say on what the "Filipino" language is.

     Also, originally, both usage were simply "nang", it was only way much later that "ng" was invented, then everyone got so strict about "nang" vs "ng". Then as you've said, it ended up being both as "ng". Then 3 years ago, they started pushing for "nang" vs "ng" again.

     Filipino is an evolving language. (Tagalog too.) The KWF is neither powerful nor influential enough to change the way we learn and re-learn Filipino, so I don't mind what they say so much, unless of course you're an academic or a researcher. They once told us (high school students) to differentiate between "nang" and "ng," then a few years later (university), changed their minds to say to just spell both as "ng."
