   For folks not familiar, it's a 15-hour drive (if you're lucky) from #Yellowknife to St. Albert, just outside of Edmonton, where the closest reception centre is.

   It's trees for hundreds of kilometres.

     Everyone has to be out by Friday at noon MDT. At least 5000 evacuees will arrive in #yyc. Flights start at 1 pm Thursday. Yellowknife Hospital is closing units and negotiating medivac flights with SK, AB, and BC… whoever can take patients.

     The mayor of #Yellowknife has handed control of the city to the NWT government.

     My heart goes out to everyone up north.
