   so i started writing this serious psychological thriller scifi and it’s turning into absurdist comedy. one of my characters is just a complete doof and i’m leaning into it

     there’s a whole subplot that sets him (an aloof side character scientist) up for a hilarious misunderstanding with a detective who dismisses him because of his demeanor and some serious shit happens because of that
