I was reading a critical review of Oppenheimer that made some sound points but also had some weird biases, until it lost me here:

"Unlike the United States, none of these countries has spent the last 100+ years colonizing, exploiting, threatening, bullying, economically manipulating, and otherwise trying to dominate and destroy the world."

"These countries" is a list including Russia and China.
