     so we need the sun to shine on our atmosphere for our atmosphere to be able to cool down?

     yes but the heat that is trapped in our atmosphere will stay there. this is a double edged sword solution

     maybe it's better if I just ask you to explain precisely how each method we've invented to block the sun has a side effect which restricts the ability of the upper atmosphere to emit (not from reflection) infrared radiation back out into space

     well i was assuming that the geoengineering behind blocking sun relies on co2 wich works as insulator. But i dont really know how it works so yea my lé epic greentext is kinda stupid after thinking about it.
