   Trolley problem: You are in a runaway trolley with nearly 8 billion other people.
   If the trolley is not stopped, it will roll into a furnace.
   Simply pulling the lever will stop the trolley, but it requires billions of people to stop what they're doing and pull the lever together.

     @Tak Counterpoint: It's not a binary choice. To be clear, we absolutely need to move beyond capitalism and infinite ever-accelerating growth at all costs, and that is going to require a lot of work by a lot of people, but even minor actions _do_ have an impact, and by organising, we can both do things that actually help and mitigate the damage, and that also builds the institutions and connections that we need to build the better society that we want.
