You boys owe it to yourselves to read Nausicaa. It goes almost without saying that Miyazaki’s art and characters are of the very highest quality, but the plot and themes will very much resonate with all of us here. It goes well beyond the good but limited environmentalist message of the film, the guy who recommended it to me called it “eco-fascist” but I think it transcends meme ideologies and will speak deeply to any right minded person. I would easily call this Miyazaki’s finest work, including his films, and one of the best books, not just of manga or comics, of all fiction, that I’ve ever read.

@KonataWagner When you’re ready for your next “serious” manga let me know

@KonataWagner 7 volumes, so it’s something you can read in a day or two. i have a hardcover version that’s a box set of the whole thing in two almost comically oversized books, but it looks like it’s out of print, and I’m not sure if any version is currently in print. But you can read just about anything on mangadex, I’d expect this has to have a pretty good fan translation.

@SerfnUSA Thanks. You may have convinced me to read my first "serious" manga. I might check it out this week since I am now caught up with watching Summertime Render

@SerfnUSA How long is the manga? And where does one buy them in the first place? I've literally never read a manga before except nagatoro on a random website briefly to see how quickly the relationship would progress in that one
