     You can only add profiles to lists if you are following them.

     This is for safety reasons, so that people you have blocked cannot add you to their lists.

     By the way, there is an update on the way which would allow you to mute people on your Home timeline without muting them on Lists.

     Which method are you using to add them to a list? Are you going to the profile and adding there, or are you searching for their name within the Lists editor?

     I try add a profile to a list from the profile page immediately after I follow it.

     I just went looking for an example and can't find one. Makes me think perhaps there's a lag between when I follow and when the list option appears for me. If that's so, case resolved. If I see this happen again, I'll let you know. Thanks for the help.
