     I'm pretty sure the Yuan is pronounced "Yu-en" but everyone says it "Juan"

     Wikipedia has /ɥæ̌n/ i.e. the vowel having an “a” sound but “a” as in “cat” rather than “father” – telling English-speakers as this blog does that a sound is halfway between /a/ and /ɛ/ is unnecessary as that’s literally what /æ/ as in is.
