I'm listening to The Offspring's 'Let The Bad Times Roll' album from 2021, specifically in cassette format.
The Album:
I'm on side B as of writing, and it sounds pretty Offspring'y to me lol. My familiarity with the band is Crazy Taxi and listening to 'The Kids aren't Alright' so i'm probably not best equipped to judge, but I like it and will probably relisten, which is a very good start
The cassette:
There are 12 tracks total, side A has 5 and side B has 7. A nearly even split with some variation in track length im sure.
The cassette isnt low quality, it has a fairly wide sound stage and all the sounds arent crushed together, its probably not the highest quality Type 1 tape you can get, but its good enough for me. Having not heard any other version of the album I cant tell if this is a tape issue or not, but the vocals sound a little pre-blown out if that makes sense, could be the volume of them plus some compression being not translated properly onto the cassette. Its not a deal breaker but I think there is an imperfection there.
Happy 3am.
