Looking at buying an RO filter. RO, if you don't know what that is, is reverse osmosis-- it has the ability to remove very tiny contaminants from water, like the size of individual molecules, by forcing it through a membrane with tiny holes in it, holes far too small for most things except water molecules to fit through.
A lot of these RO filters I'm looking at also have a UV sterlization stage BEFORE the water is put through the membrane. Now what the FUCK is the point of that? Aren't basically all pathogenic organisms much too large to go through an RO membrane? So what the fuck is the point of the sterilization step?

Wrong. Bacteria can still damage the filter and drinking distilled water is retarded and wasteful.

@JAJAX It's a placebo. You want to grab a water distiller, like I told you before.

I’m not talking about distillers, I’m talking about RO systems. That’s why they have UV systems.

@bot @JAJAX
> Ignores the charcoal filter on the distiller.
You are completely entitled to your incorrect opinion, and I will defend to the death your right to have it.
If I were talking to you about distilled water, I'd be discussing the electolytes you'd want to add to the water in order to make it good to drink. But he already knew what I was going to tell him.
