Quad (quad@akko.quad.moe)'s status on Wednesday, 09-Aug-2023 21:07:06 JST Quad However i did mention like a month ago that a Norwegian retailer listed it out of stock.
That same store has since added an ETA of 14.08.2023 to their stock.
So maybe there's finally some hopeHaelwenn /элвэн/ :triskell: likes this. -

Quad (quad@akko.quad.moe)'s status on Wednesday, 09-Aug-2023 21:09:05 JST Quad @loke It's just Valve being Valve. They are absolutely Nazi about controlling all their own products and distribution. Kinda why they run Steam as well, they've also made extremely certain that they entirely own every speck of dust in their own IPs and that nothing at all is licensed. Quad (quad@akko.quad.moe)'s status on Wednesday, 09-Aug-2023 21:09:07 JST Quad @loke If Power starts selling Steam Decks in Norway I'm fairly certain it won't be an official distribution though. Most likely Power would be grey importing it.
That would be an easy and lucrative business for them as they already have a presence in Sweden with shipments regularly moving from Sweden to Norway anyways.
I suspect Norway is a decent market for the SD as well, same as for other luxury tech products. -

Quad (quad@akko.quad.moe)'s status on Wednesday, 09-Aug-2023 21:09:10 JST Quad @loke No, it's because Valve.
Valve likes to sell Direct-to-consumer, the only exception is via Komodo in Asia.
They themselves only ship to NA, EU and a select few other countries (Like the UK).
Due to this no Valve products have ever been available in Norway. I always wanted a Steam controller, but couldn't get one, couldn't get a Steam Link when they went on sale either. And it's also impossible to buy a Valve Index in Norway. -

Elias Mårtenson (loke@functional.cafe)'s status on Wednesday, 09-Aug-2023 21:09:11 JST Elias Mårtenson @quad it is so weird that it's still limited. It couldn't possibly be because of supply issues? It's not like it's hard to get in the countries where or is offered.

Elias Mårtenson (loke@functional.cafe)'s status on Wednesday, 09-Aug-2023 21:09:12 JST Elias Mårtenson @quad When did they go out of stock? I bought one from Sweden early this year.
That was a hassle by the way, when I access the site from Singapore it still says: "This item is not available for reservation in your country"
When I placed by order from Sweden, they clearly went out of their way to make sure that you don't order from overseas. They check all of his, and if you do it wrong you taint your account so you have to create a new one. I think I created 4 accounts before being able to order:
- Need to connect from Sweden
- Need to register with a Swedish address
- Need to use a Swedish credit card
- Need to use a Swedish delivery address

Quad (quad@akko.quad.moe)'s status on Wednesday, 09-Aug-2023 21:09:12 JST Quad @loke Steam Decks have never been for sale in Norway. Personally I had a friend in Germany help me order one.
Sometime in June Power added listings for the Steam Deck that were all "out of stock". This was the first sign of Steam Decks ever being available in Norway. And they've now changed the "out of stock" to "ETA 14.08.2023"
But as of today, there is no way to get a Steam Deck in Norway unless you have a friend in the EU willing to get it over the border for you
