Regarding the robot servant of the Cleons, the relationship is complicated, and while not obviously inconsistent with the laws of robotics, where for example the killing of the Dawn Cleon clone might be for humanity (zeroth law), the assassination of the shaman priestess seems to be not in the spirit of Asimov's writing.
Also, the relationship between the Emperor(s) and the robot is skewed, to be continued .......

In the source material, the robot is clearly in charge, by manipulating Cleon the old fashioned way, or when needed, using the minimal effective amount of mind control.
And also by turning the robot into a middle aged emotional wench, the show writers clearly are going against the spirit of Asimov's writing.
This leads into a discussion about to what extent the show is catering to the prominent woke culture.....

The show has an overweight of female protagonists, and blacks in the lead roles just because, doesn't add to the story of big picture, doesn't subtract either, but seems contrived, like virtue signaling and perhaps more justified, gambling that it increases the viewership.
I would expect Isaak Asimov to be non racist, but never woke.

Just finished season 1 of Foundation. Got some mixed feelings.
The clone dynasty of the Cleon emperors was an interesting twist, as was the presentation of the vault with messages guiding the crisis.
What was lower on the list was turning the spacers into freak hyperspace guides, and Demerzel/R Daneel Olivaw

The season one ending was interesting, and in the spirit of Asimov's writing.
