     A country that has an insane "defense" budget of 800+ billion dollars can't afford high speed rail. Or universal healthcare. Or free college. Or safe infrastructure.
     Private military contractors gorge themselves on taxpayer dollars, having purchased the House and Senate.

     @gergolippai about 2 months went into managing a team of international transport experts to gather all the data. They did a tremendous job and I feel privileged to be able to work with them. Without these guys I wouldn't be able to compile all the data

     @pallenberg Sure there are no fast trains in the US, but you've got like 10 to 15 km of tunnels with Tesla clogged in them under Vegas or something, so, take that Europe and Asia ?

     @pallenberg Australia has a pretty comprehensive high speed rail system as well. I'm tempted to add a dotted line between Melbourne and Sydney where a high speed line has been promised at every election since the 1980s.
