    L O V E D I T ! !

I thought a musical episode might help put me to sleep but it was far too good and exciting.

Jess Bush's wonderful number was already very good, but then there was Ethan Peck's heart-tickling barytone dip and there was nowhere to go from there[0] but intently watching and finishing the whole thing.

It's an old recipe by now, but it was cooked to perfection.

I'm talking about Star Trek: Strange New Worlds S2E09: "Subspace Rhapsody"

[0] yes, that's a Buffy musical episode reference

No wait, actually I was 100% hooked already at Christina Chong's number. She must have pretty strong stage experience, right? That was breathtaking.

Wikipedia says nothing, but an interview says Romijn, Chong and Gooding were known singers, and the surprise was everyone else could sing too.

@clacke well played on the Buffy ref.

God that episode was good. For me, Christina Chong also just slayed my emotions.

@clacke Ms. Chong has three single albums available for purchase on Amazon Music that I just bought after the musical episode. She’s easier to listen to than many of our American music “stars”.

An interview with Chong said six of them have musical theater experience.

Based on their performance I'm guessing that's the above three and then Bush, Peck and Navia.

Or switch out one of them for Kane? Kane must have done Everything.

@clacke I read a thing that basically said Anson Mount was like "I don't really sing", and that's not too surprising? But he did fine.

I wonder if Anthony Rapp feels like he got cast in the wrong Star Trek now. :D

@ocdtrekkie Yeah Mount was the one that was most obviously without prior training, but they wrote the pieces really well for him and his power part in the finale was great.

Really all the pieces were written to their specific actor's skill and range, letting them all shine. Fantastic job.
