an absolute faggot that destroyed an entire fantasy world because he'd rather his brother were a cripple for life and his friends reduced to a mundane life of drudgery and being bullied.
I got that it was another very real world and that this cocksucker killed it but that brother thing is fucking monstrous. He could have got a viera girl and been head of the finest clan of all time but noooooo.
If there's any justice in Ivalice Marche burns in hell
@Grumblesock@BigDuck well older outtings are still fun, i honestly originally hated 12 i was like 'wtf did they do to final fantasy the game series" but later i played it and i liked being able to basicly make the game play itself while building your team lOL
I've got it waiting in my library too and understand it's a decent improvement on the original. i'm sure I'll get to it in time, I think I've just grown a bit weary of the franchise in the last decade or so.
@Zealist@Grumblesock@BigDuck Gambits are very cool and you can play without them. People who criticize gambits are the type of people who never use AI in crpgs and manually select every command even when fighting goblins.
@Zealist@Grumblesock@BigDuck I unlearned that by figuring out you can just spam rest in 90% of crpgs without any consequences.
In the ones you can't, mages are on buffbot duty until they are level 12+ and have enough spells to blast an entire dungeon. It's still faster and more economical to buff your martials into spinny wheels of death tho.
@Giga_Vril_Breaker@Grumblesock@BigDuck never played it, i downloaded a retranslated iso of 7 for ps1 emu, i need to try eventually cuz the original translation is dogass
That was the big part of 12 that I really appreciated, it was quite novel for the time and allowed a canny player to set things up in a way that made life much more easy and interesting. 12 will always be the last great FF game for me.
@Grumblesock@BigDuck@Zealist I tried giving 13 a go and it's just cruel how long it takes for the systems to give you a free rein, and it's kind of fun, but by then you'd played 20h of the game on-rails and you're sick of it.
@Grumblesock@Giga_Vril_Breaker@BigDuck i used to watch a guy on youtube called hcbailey, he basicly only does jrpgs and zelda games good times, having him on in the background while doing various shit.
I played it all the way through and it was beautiful to look at, the soundtrack was great and there were elements of the story and world building that were really quite intriguing, but all of that i could have gotten from a movie or watching playthrough and with about as much input from the player for most of it too. A shame and a waste. I never felt the urge to play it again or either of its sequels and I got through X-2 twice.
