I'm terribly sorry about the recent drop in reliability of ieji.de. I've recently updated the server to the latest stable debian version and started splitting up services to improve stability and performance. Unfortunately the opposite was the case in terms of stability, as unexpected issues surfaced. I have now tuned some settings which will improve the situation again, so you can enjoy ieji at the high level of quality that is expected.
@Jerry@snort the issue I had was that web/streaming would not start because of specific libicu libidn library version missing iirc. I went the "I want this to be back up asap" *dirty* method by just pulling the older version of these libraries. They can happily coexist so I saw no issue there. Besides that, I had to do a ALTER DATABASE mastodon_production REFRESH COLLATION VERSION; because of a newer libc6 version, if you haven't done that, make sure to do so (collation version mismatch error).
I had a problem this weekend after I upgraded from Ubuntu 22.04 to 23.04. Mastodon wouldn't come up afterward.
I then tried rebuilding Mastodon but got the same error during the build that I saw in syslog, that a file couldn't be found.
I eventually got Mastodon rebuilt by using "bundle install --redownload" instead of "bundle install"
Just comparing notes to learn something that might save me from the same aggravation some day. Did you see this same problem, given that Ubuntu is a Debian derivative?
I did see other Admins mention that they had problems upgrading their Debian versions.
