I was just reading that #Meta is apparently claiming it will seek explicit consent from EU users before using their data to serve up highly targeted ads as the UK meanwhile considers an "appropriate response." And aside from the fact one of the most morally bankrupt deputy prime ministers in British history (I know: that's saying something) moved on to work for Meta so they have some nice reach there, I'm just astounded that people still want to willingly participate on sites that openly gather data to simply to sell ad space. But then, many people are also accepting of a certain other billionaire-owned site on which he proudly bragged about spreading misinformation...
